Biodiversity and its Advantages
Biodiversity:
The different variety of life which are present on this earth are known as biological diversity. There are many different living organisms are found in the different geographic region. This diversity is found within all species of plants, animal, and microorganisms. The vast variety of genes are found in between all species.
Biodiversity is the outcome of 3.5 billion years of evolution of different species on this earth. The major factors that influence biodiversity are the temperature, precipitation, soils and their relation with other species.
Importance of Biodiversity:
Balance Ecosystem: Biodiversity help to maintain the ecosystem. It recycles and store the nutrients, resist pollution, stabilize climate, protect water resources, form and protect soil and maintain eco-balance.
Support biological resources: It provides medicines and pharmaceutical products, food for the humans and animals, wood products.
Social benefits: Creation and tourism, cultural value, education, and research.
Recreational Activities: It enhances the recreational activities like birds watching, fishing, trekking, it inspires musicians and artists.
Agriculture Production: Biodiversity help to maintain agriculture system. it increases agriculture production by soil formation, nutrient cycling, pollination for fertilization.
Waste Removal: The biodiversity of microbes decompose organic matter such as leaves, fruits, vegetables, dead animals, and insects. It is a delicate balance to remove waste from an environment, making it cleaner which helps in reducing the spread of diseases.
Industrial Material: A wide variety of industrial materials are derived from biological resources which include building materials, gums, resins, adhesives, rubber, fibers, dyes, and oil.
Economic Benefits: Biodiversity uphold Economic activity by a Vast variety of food and medicine production, nutrient provision, fertile soil, foresty, fisheries, tourism, and by hunting.
